"Sponsoring a child was a desire my husband and I have had for several years. I even checked out some websites about sponsorship before I found out about Mission Discovery. After making my first trip in October 2005, I found out about their sponsorship program, HOLD the children. After meeting several members of the Mission Discovery team, I felt that this organization was one to be trusted. In October of 2006, while back in Jamaica with Mission Discovery, my husband and I were even able to meet the little boy we had been sponsoring for the previous year. What a blessing to actually meet the child we had been praying for and to know that because of us he could attend school! While visiting with the other children, we decided to sponsor a young girl as well. And in October 2007, God allowed us to go back to Jamaica with Mission Discovery. We again visited "our children" and I cannot explain the feeling I have knowing that we are making an eternal difference in these two children's lives. I am so thankful to be a small part of what Mission Discovery and HOLD the children are doing in so many parts of the world."

"I used to watch the child sponsor commercials and my heart would ache. I really wanted to help but how could I know for sure the child on the card was real and that my money was being used for them? After going on a short term mission trip and meeting children that were sponsored by Htc I had no more reservations. I saw first hand how the money was used and met the people in charge. I began sponsoring a child as soon as I returned home. I received a picture with information about my child and last October I went back to Jamaica and had the chance to meet him. I was so excited, he is more than a picture to me he is a gift!!"

"Andre had been our sponsor child for a couple years, but since he had transferred to a different school we would need to be matched up with another child. I was blessed to be visiting the Jamaican Christian School for the Deaf on a Mission Discovery trip when I saw her. She was a tall, lanky 14-year old student that was filled with attitude, and I instantly fell in love with her! In my short visit we became "buddies", and I knew in my heart she would be our next sponsor child. Her picture on our refrigerator reminds me not only to pray for this spunky young lady, but of that time when God brought two feisty girls together on a mountain in Montego Bay to bind them together in His love!"
